Dr. Kyung received a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He completed a residency at Northwell at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, New York, and a Chief Residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New Rochelle, New York.

He gained further training through a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, and at a sleep medicine fellowship at New York University Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, New York. During training he participated in clinical research, presenting findings at conferences and contributing to medical publications.
