Dr. Wagner specializes in the surgical treatment of digestive and complex abdominal tumors, including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver, colorectal, and appendix cancers. He cares for patients with metastatic cancer, including liver and peritoneal metastases, as well as patients with rare tumor types such as sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors.

Dr. Wagner serves as the director of Complex General Surgical Oncology at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute.

He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed surgical and pathology residencies at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. He completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Wagner is certified both by the American Board of Surgery and by the American Board of Pathology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology.

He prioritizes patient-centered, individualized care planning in his clinical practice, and emphasizes minimally invasive approaches, including robotic surgery whenever possible. Dr. Wagner strives to make innovative treatment options available to patients with complex cancers through translational research and clinical trials.
