She completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She gained specialized training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery through a fellowship at the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and International Pelvic Pain Society.
